Writing

Mary wrote short stories, songs, children’s books and loads and loads of ‘notes’ throughout her life. In 1980, Doubleday published her autobiography Both of Me. Then in 1988, New York Magazine published Mary’s article recounting her long-term relationship with “Lilli” -- a homeless woman living in Central Park. The piece was later reworked by playwright Marsha Norman as a made-for-television movie called Face of a Stranger.

Both of Me is a memoir by Mary Stuart, an actress known for her role as Jo on the daytime soap opera "Search for Tomorrow." The book details her experiences as an actress, singer, and songwriter, as well as her personal life, including her relationships with her husbands, mother, and children.
